Good Friday or Holy Friday is the last Friday before Easter. It celebrates the Lord’s Passion in three main parts: the Liturgy of the Word, the Adoration of the Cross, and Holy Communion. This year, it was held on the 7th of April, and conducted in the Chapel of Annunciation (Hua Mak Campus) by Rev Father YEZOUMA Pascal COULIBALY with two other Priest, in the presence of the President of the Assumption University, Very Rev Brother Bancha, and Rev Brother Achin, the Vice President of Administrative Affairs with many Lay faithful.

Message : According to the Late Pope Benedict XVI, “this Liturgy applies to Jesus’s descent into the night of death, the words of Psalm 23: “Lift up your heads, O gates; be lifted up, O ancient doors!” The gates of death are closed, no one can return from there. There is no key for those iron doors. But Christ has the key. His Cross opens wide the gates of death, the stern doors. They are barred no longer. His Cross, his radical love, is the key that opens them. The love of the One who, though God, became man in order to die – this love has the power to open those doors. This love is stronger than death.”

Prayer : May God always help us to find meaning in our individual sufferings, firmly believing that God would never allow any evil whatsoever to exist in his works if He were not so all-powerful and good as to cause good to emerge from evil itself.
